At Home Instead Milton Keynes we believe in the importance of community health to ensure compassion, dignity and putting care back into healthcare. This means valuing any opportunity where we can encourage health empowerment, education and awareness, improving disease management, shared expertise and overall bettering health outcomes to enhance independent, healthy ageing and happy lives, creating a safer, healthier and community for everyone now and in future.
This is why we offer a variety of community initiatives such as Health talks, Coffee Mornings, Social and seasonal events, Love to Move Movement Programme, Key to care community health drop in sessions with our healthcare experts in GP Practices and many more.
With Milton Keynes being the second largest population increase in South East region by 15.3 higher than the increase for the South East (7.5%) and increase of 43.6% in people aged 65 years and over since 202, we are seeing an increasingly ageing society in Milton Keynes. This means people are living longer but unfortunately in ill health, we believe we need to do more to help our local communities. These community initiatives allow a safe space for local residents to prevent social isolation, promote awareness and knowledge, gain health support and seek expert advice. On a wider perspective, promote prevention and early intervention, disease management and help you to look after yourselves and loved ones you care for better!
As we have found our Health talks very popular we now provide free talks in the community for organisations, charities, community groups and commercial businesses across Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire and surrounding areas on topics such as Healthy Ageing, Dementia, Diabetes, End of Life Care, CPR Training and many more.
Our healthy ageing talks highlights the rapid growth in the elderly population and key tools that we can all implement to ensure we are ageing well.
