Building Stronger Communities Together

Supporting Young Minds Through Community Engagement in Milton Keynes
Recently, our team had the pleasure of working with two fantastic local schools—Cold Harbour Church of England Primary School in Bletchley and Broughton Fields Primary School in Milton Keynes—as part of a special two-part project focused on wellbeing, empathy, and creativity.
Encouraging Conversations Around Family and Wellbeing
The project began with our student health talk, “Navigating Illness in the Family,” delivered during school assemblies to Key Stage 2 pupils. These sessions were designed to open up important conversations about illness, helping children better understand how it can affect families and how they can offer support to loved ones during challenging times.
Across both schools, pupils were highly engaged, contributing thoughtful ideas and showing genuine empathy throughout the discussions. It was incredibly rewarding for our team to see such openness, curiosity, and engagement from the students.
Celebrating Creativity with Our Easter Art Competition
Following the assemblies, we launched our Easter Art Competition, inviting pupils to express their creativity. The response was fantastic, with a wide range of imaginative and colourful entries that truly showcased the talent within both schools.
To celebrate the students’ efforts, we hosted special judging days at each school. We were delighted to be joined by Mayor James Lancaster, Sarah Marquiss, General Manager of Home Instead Milton Keynes, the Headteachers of both schools, and members of our Business Development and Community Engagement team, who all came together to recognise and celebrate the pupils’ wonderful artwork.
A True Community Collaboration
These projects would not have been possible without the support and enthusiasm of the schools. We extend our sincere thanks to:
- Headteacher, Sarah Kotulecki and Michelle Youngworth at Cold Harbour Church of England Primary School, Bletchley
- Headteacher, Steve Rae and Helen Thomas at Broughton Fields Primary School, Milton Keynes
We are also incredibly grateful to Zahra Kassim, Business Development Lead at Home Instead Milton Keynes, for organising and delivering another impactful community initiative.
A special thank you goes to Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Parks Milton Keynes for generously providing prizes for the competition winners, helping make the experience even more memorable for the students.
Building Stronger Communities Together
At Home Instead, we believe that care starts within the community. Projects like these not only help spark important conversations around wellbeing but also encourage creativity, compassion, and connection among young people.
We are proud to have partnered with these wonderful schools and look forward to continuing to support initiatives that strengthen wellbeing and community engagement across Milton Keynes.
