We are so lucky to have Biddulph Grange Garden right on our doorstep! Biddulph Grange Garden is a magnificent National Trust property perfect for a picnic with loved ones. Its stunning landscaped gardens, ornamental lakes, and historic buildings make it a great place to relax and soak up the sun. The garden also has age-friendly facilities, including some accessible pathways, parking, and toilets.
Do note that there are many steps around the garden, as well as some tunnels and narrow paths, so parts of the garden may not be accessible to everyone.
Rudyard Lake Steam Railway
For something different, why not take your picnic and have a ride on the Rudyard Lake Steam Railway? This narrow-gauge railway takes visitors on a scenic tour of the stunning Rudyard Lake, providing beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. (In March 2023 the toilets and platform 2 were closed to allow completion of the new cafe, so do check ahead!).

Although perhaps not as wheelchair friendly as other areas, there is a little cafe too!
The Roaches is a popular destination for hikers and nature enthusiasts, but it also offers some fantastic picnic spots. Located just a short drive from Biddulph Moor, this stunning area of natural beauty offers stunning views and plenty of places to sit and enjoy a picnic.
