In 2014, just six months after Home Instead Knowsley and Liverpool East opened its doors, Shauna stepped into the picture and her story is truly inspiring. Over the years, she became an integral part of the team, and some would say even part of the furniture, evolving from a dedicated Care Professional, through different roles in the company and now into a Registered Care Manager, and we couldn’t be prouder of the journey she has had. This showcases her dedication and passion for providing high quality and person-centred care. As she celebrates her decade-long journey with Home Instead, Shauna’s story embodies the essence of compassion and commitment in caregiving.
Initially, Shauna started out as a Care Professional, with no previous care experience she really pushed herself to gain an understanding of what person-centred care was and how she could ensure she met all her clients’ different needs. Shauna impressed the team and was soon asked to develop into a supervisor role, where she supported in sourcing exceptional candidates to join the Home Instead family as Care Professionals. She meticulously trained them, guiding them through a comprehensive 12-week care certificate programme, whilst offering unwavering support every step of the way. Her dedication laid the foundation for a team of caregivers who shared her passion for enriching the lives of others.
What captivated Shauna most about her role was the dynamic nature of each day. In the world of caregiving, no two days are alike, presenting constant challenges and opportunities for growth. However, amidst the challenges, Shauna found relief in the deep impact she could make on the lives of those under her care.
Reflecting on her journey, Shauna fondly recalls a memorable interaction with one of her first clients and her husband, a former Lord Mayor of Liverpool. Their shared moments were filled with captivating stories and cherished memories. The bond they shared exceeded the caregiver-client relationship, ending in Shauna being invited to celebrate a special occasion—a gesture she holds close to her heart.
