When Small Worlds Collide

When Chris Lye and Miles Beaufort attended Home Instead Senior Care’s Annual Conference in Australia, they had no idea that their worlds have already crossed paths.

Chris and Myles have been living the same life in a different continent. Both Franchise Owners for Home Instead Senior Care, they run the Ipswich territory in UK and Australia respectively.

Chris Lye, owner of Home Instead Senior Care Ipswich, Felixstowe and Woodbridge commented on meeting Myles, saying "Besides the fact that we both own Ipswich territories on different sides of the world, we have a remarkably similar story to one another. The craziest thing is, it turns out that the conference wasn't the first time we had met. Myles and I are from the same year group in school and the last time we met was as opponents on the rugby field, when we were young teenagers in the UK."

Now working for Home Instead Senior Care, the two have continued to live mirrored lives on different sides of the world.  Home Instead Senior Care provides care to elderly people living in their own homes. There are currently over 1,000 offices around the globe.

Myles Beaufort, owner of Australia’s Home Instead Senior Care Brisbane South and Ipswich office, said, “Our national conference is always a great event, as we get to network with colleagues from all over Australia,  but this year was extra special meeting Chris from Ipswich UK."

“We have a lot in common with our language, cultural and business similarities, and it was great to bounce ideas off each other about how we run our day to day operations in the office. I am looking forward to keeping in touch with Chris, both as a business owner and as a friend.”
