Home Care Company is Singing for Dementia

The team at an Ipswich based home care company have been singing from the same song sheet as they launched their latest campaign as part of Dementia Action Week. Home Instead Senior Care created a ‘SongsToRemember’ of favourite songs that caregivers and their clients love to sing together.
As part of Dementia Action Week, Home Instead partnered with St Albans Catholic High School where dozens of students in years 7 to 10 enjoyed singing with Home Instead clients during music lessons on the 23rd May.
Joanna McCall, General Manager of Home Instead Ipswich, Felixstowe and Woodbridge, said: “It was a great experience taking part in singing lessons with pupils from St Albans Catholic High School. It was a well-attended event, and we all left feeling inspired and uplifted.”
Matt Baker, Headmaster at St Albans Catholic High School said, “We had such a wonderful time singing with some Home Instead clients during our music lessons last week. It was quite powerful, bringing students and the elderly together all as one voice, spreading the sheer enjoyment of music and song. I do hope we can continue to host events like this in the future.”
Home Instead specialises in providing at-home care for the elderly, allowing people to remain independent for as long as possible. It is the only home care company to offer dementia training that is City & Guilds accredited, making its caregivers experts in supporting people to live life well with dementia.
