Joanne is one of our brilliant CAREGivers who works in the Woodbridge area, she has worked for us for four years. We asked Joanne a couple of questions about her role as a CAREGiver.
What do you like about your role as a CAREGiver?
My role is very rewarding and I have learnt more from my clients than I think I ever learnt at school. They teach me so much, about life, tips, cooking, arranging flowers properly and they give such good advice.
What do you like about Home Instead?
Everything! I have worked in care for some time now and I have experienced doing half hour visits to clients, which I found so stressful and difficult. I wouldn’t have time to sit and chat with clients and I would never have time to take them out or even into their garden. If I was late for a visit I would spend the whole day catching up. With Home Instead I have time to sit and chat with our clients, as well as take client’s out. We have time to get to know them as we see the same clients regularly and we have time to just walk round the garden if that is what they want to do. I also feel appreciated here and I feel that if I call the office they listen and help.
Thank you, Joanne, for sharing with us how you feel about your role.
