Our Care Professional Chris tell us how she is enjoying her role with Home Instead.

How did you hear about Home Instead?

“It was at the Felixstowe Leisure Centre recruitment event.”

What prompted you to apply for the role?

“I was looking for more of a part-time role.”

What were you doing before joining Home Instead?

“I was retired and spent some of my time volunteering.”

What do you like to do in your spare time and are you able to bring that into your role?

“I like to read, walk and I play badminton. I have an interest in History and Nature which provides plenty of interesting conversation.”

What do you enjoy most about the role?

“Spending time with our clients and their families and knowing that I am making a difference to their quality of life.”

What are the benefits of the hourly care role for both you and the client?

“It allows me to take my time with our clients and do that little bit extra for them, giving me job satisfaction.”

What activities, if any, do you do with your clients?

“The client I see enjoys more of a companionship visit, therefore, we spend a lot of time discussing various topics.”

What would you say to anyone considering a role in care?

“If you have patience and empathy and enjoy helping people,  then this could be the role for you.”
