Home Instead Ipswich Raises £500 in Ipswich Defeat Dementia Walk

In a heartwarming community effort, Home Instead Ipswich, Woodbridge & Felixstowe recently participated in the Ipswich Defeat Dementia Walk, raising nearly £500 for dementia support.

The Ipswich Defeat Dementia Walk, held on October 14, 2023, brought together individuals from all walks of life to support those affected by dementia. Home Instead, a provider of home care services, joined this event, emphasising their commitment to improving the lives of seniors and dementia patients. As a special treat for participants, Home Instead set up a prosecco point at the end of the route, with Owner Chris Lye helping to provide refreshments for all of the walkers.

In a show of community unity, the Mayoress of Ipswich, more than happy to pose for a photo, shared her personal gratitude with the Home Instead team. She expressed her deep appreciation for their support, stating, “You supported me greatly with caring for my mother before she passed.”

Residents of all ages united in the walk, demonstrating a shared responsibility in fighting dementia. Home Instead’s contributions were significant, reflecting their dedication to the cause.

Joanna McCall, General Manager of Home Instead Ipswich, Woodbridge & Felixstowe, expressed pride in the team’s efforts, saying, “We are passionate about enhancing the lives of those living with dementia. The Ipswich Defeat Dementia Walk was a fantastic opportunity to show our commitment and support for this crucial cause. A huge thank you to those who have donated to our fundraiser.”

The funds raised will support research, awareness campaigns, and care programs for individuals with dementia.
