Enjoy the perfect cuppa the next time you’re out and about; drop by one of our favourite places in Huntingdon to grab a cup of tea.

At Home Instead Huntingdon we know that a decent cup of tea is absolutely imperative! When you’re out and about in town, what could be better than making a quick pit stop for a nice cuppa? Whether you’re a youngster, a senior, or somewhere in-between; a cup of tea is something that everyone can enjoy.

If you are in the Huntingdon Town Centre, an absolute must-try is Café du Gallery. It is one of the towns hidden gems, tucked away down Newtons Court between Nationwide and The British Heart Foundation. Independently owned and run, it has a great menu selection of sweet and savoury and offers options for indoor or al-fresco dining. They even offer a delivery service if you want to try it from the comfort of your own home! Our very own office team has enjoyed this Café’s menu for lunch on many occasions.

Olmo Lounge

Olmo lounge is another of our ‘must-try’ cafes after our office team had the pleasure of visiting for a staff meal out. Situated on the High Street opposite the Huntingdon Town Hall, Olmo Lounge’s beautiful, aesthetic interior is a good enough reason alone to visit! The food and service were both wonderful, and we were particularly impressed at the amount of Vegetarian, Vegan, and Gluten-Free options they offer. Being a café-bar, they offer a host of options beyond a simple cuppa. Whether you’re looking for a nice evening meal out, a quick stop for lunch, or that old faithful cup of tea – Olmo Lounge could be the perfect spot for you.

The Old Bridge Hotel

The Old Bridge Hotel is hardly a secret in Huntingdon and has certainly been a staple in the town for many years. Describing itself as a handsome ivy-clad 18th century town house hotel, it has been privately owned and operated since 1994. It offers beautifully idyllic views as it sits on the bank of the River Great Ouse, just on the cusp of the town centre. They offer a lovely option for afternoon tea with a generous array of sandwiches and cakes – it was almost too much to eat! The Old Bridge Hotel is not just good for a simple cuppa, offering many options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. One of our office members mentioned that one of Huntingdon’s best kept secrets is their Sunday Steak Night – delicious food at a reasonable cost. The hotel has its own car park and very good disabled access, it has a host of options for Vegetarian/Vegan. If you’re heading over there of an evening and fancy a tipple; we have it on very good authority that they also have an excellent selection of gins.

The Local Café

Don’t we all love a cheap and cheerful, but still incredibly tasty, option? The Local Café in Huntingdon is the perfect spot for just that! Located on Chequers way, they offer very affordable prices but still with very large portions – we simply can’t turn a blind eye to the value for money here. The Local Café has been our Recruiters favourite breakfast spot for roughly 5 years! If you do decide to pop by this wonderful Café, it’s worth noting that they only accept cash so perhaps nip by a cash point on your way.

Johnsons Farm in Old Hurst

Whilst it’s not in Huntingdon town, we simply couldn’t leave out The Eccentric Englishman Tea Toom at Johnsons Farm in Old Hurst. If you are able to travel a little outside of Huntingdon, The Eccentric Gentleman is an absolute must-try! Offering a fantastic menu selection, the café is a brilliant pit stop for all occasions. Don’t be shocked if you hop out of your car to an aroma – the café is situated on a working farm! Being based on the farm, The Eccentric Gentleman is home to some beautiful views, simply wonderful food and also has a brilliant steak house called Jiggers just across the road.
