We all know that happy staff make for a successful business and one local company is going the extra mile to ensure they are getting it right.
Indeed the company, Home Instead in Harrogate, Ripon and Thirsk is so intent on making sure their care workers are happy that they recently asked them to take part in a ‘happiness’ survey.
The survey (completed anonymously) looked at various aspects of working for the company, who specialise in providing at-home care for the elderly, to ensure that CAREGivers feel valued and are happy in their work.
No stone was left unturned in this quest for CAREGiver happiness with staff asked about all aspects of their working lives including training, ongoing support, pride in working for the company and having the time to properly care for clients.
Home Instead believes that CAREGivers and clients should be matched based on shared interests, fostering strong relationships, friendships and trust and were keen to learn if this was working in relation to CAREGiver happiness.
Business owner Sheena Van Parys was delighted to receive a resounding thumbs up from the team with 97% saying they are proud to work for the company.
Speaking about the results, Sheena said, “It’s really important for us to understand what motivates our team and to make sure we have happy workers. If our caregivers aren’t happy then it’s unlikely that our clients will be.
“The survey told us that 97% of our caregivers understand how their role contributes to our goals of becoming the most respected care company by changing the face of ageing.
“87% of staff said their job gave them the opportunity to learn and develop new skills.”
With significant growth in the number of clients they serve, Home Instead currently has 48 vacancies for CAREGivers in the local area.
