The Annual Home Instead Conference Took Place In Liverpool

Last weekend nine key players at Home Instead Harrogate, Ripon and Thirsk Office attended their National Conference in Liverpool.

The conference was headlined by Sarah Jane from Sky News and had special guests such as Jez Rose - Behaviour Expert, who addressed the Power of Belief in a hilarious but dynamic way.

The Theme this year was 'The Power of' and we heard from a number of Key Players at Home Instead on The Power of Pledge, The Power of Strategy, The Power of Care, The Power of Opportunity and The Power of Wellbeing.

The 850 strong delegates started Saturday morning in the Main Hall, welcomed by Sarah-Jane Mee from Sky News who hosted the whole day and also ran individual seminars on The Power of Wellbeing.  This gave people a greater understanding of Wellbeing and how it can drive performance, energy, efficiency and enthusiasm.

Throughout the day, delegates were asked to choose in advance seminars they wished to attend and these ran throughout the afternoon for 40 minutes per session.

Here at Home Instead Harrogate, Ripon and Thirsk we looked at our individual roles and the seminars that would be beneficial and would enable us to benefit our positions.

There was also some very exciting news that was announced for the first time at the seminar and we look forward to sharing these with you in the New Year.  To give you a little bit of a clue....Watch out for Home Instead on television.

The seminar was brought to a close with an impressive Gala Dinner where we saw UK regional Home Instead Offices being presented with 'Cornerstone' Awards which identified key players and their amazing achievements.  The highlight of the evening was the presentation of 'CAREGiver of the Year'.  This should have come with a mascara warning as it was wonderful to see 850 delegates stand to their feet and give a huge round of applause in celebration of  Michael Bradbury of High Peak Office.  He was a very worthy winner and Lisa Stirk Community Co-Ordinator had the honour of personally congratulating him in the main foyer afterwards.

We hope to share all of our learning's and messages gained at the National Conference with all the CAREGiver's of Home Instead Harrogate, Ripon and Thirsk.
