Stray FM Join Home Instead at a Community Lunch

On Thursday 28th February, Stray FM attended the Ripley TLC Lunch held at All Saints Church in Ripley village.

Organised by the Friends of Ripley to ensure that the over 50's that attend are provided with three courses, drink and are able to enjoy their meal with company.

Home Instead who covers Harrogate, Ripon and Thirsk chose to support this amazing lunch which is situated right on their door step when they found that social isolation was a growing concern in over 75's.

Ben Groom from Stray FM Health & Well Being Show came along to the TLC Lunch and spoke to Lisa Stirk Community Co-Ordinator at Home Instead and some of those that regularly attend the TLC Lunch.

Last year Home Instead Senior care launched their Stay Nourished Campaign to raise local awareness for nutrition in the elderly.  Lisa Stirk said 'It has been great working with Stray FM's Health & Well Being Show to promote the importance of staying nourished and the work that the Friends of Ripley are doing in offering a balanced nutritional lunch once a month to the senior members of their community and surrounding villages just proves the importance of enjoying a meal in company of friends.

Ben Groom shared his experience and what the people who attend the lunch had to say on the Health & Well Being Show on Tuesday 12th March at 7pm.  Click on the link below to hear the full article.
