Elf to Raise Awareness For The Alzheimer's Society

As we enter the Festive Season, we at Home Instead entered into the fun of 'ELF DAY' in support of The Alzheimer's Society.

With Alzheimer's effecting 1 person every 3 minutes and 850,000 people being diagnosed with this disease and predicted that by 2020 this will increase to over 1 million, it is so important that we ensure early diagnosis with support of friends, neighbours and by creating dementia friendly neighbourhoods within our communities, we can all play a part in making this happen.

Every Year The Alzheimer's Society hold 'ELF DAY' on the first Friday in December.  This year Home Instead were delighted to welcome Alison Wrigglesworth from The Alzheimer's Society to come and be a part of the fun and antics at the Home Instead Head Office in Ripley.

On Friday 7th December we saw all the staff dress up as elves and we even had an ELF and Safety officer present.  Our wonderful CAREGiver's bought some of our client's in to enjoy festive treats and a raffle with some amazing prizes.  We also welcomed Beth Parsons from Stray FM who interviewed Alison and Lisa for her Health & Wellbeing Show which went out on Tuesday 11th at 7pm. Click on the link below to hear the full interview.

We are delighted to announce we raised £172.00 in support of Alzheimer's.  Sheena Van Parys and Lisa Stirk look forward to going to their York office in January to present them with the monies raised.

Thank you to everyone who showed great Team spirit in entering into the fun of the day and for the generous donations given.  We look forward to doing it all again next year.
