It has been all systems go for the Home Instead teams across the country as the arctic conditions took a hold and their clients became ever more reliant on the home care service provided.
The Harrogate office is no exception making every effort to ensure that their clients’ needs are met, whilst at the same time also assisting the wider community. Owner, Andrew Van Parys turned his 4x4 into a taxi to ensure all of the Caregivers could make it safely to every client visit.
Care Manager, Sarah Dowell drove from Harrogate to Wetherby in a snow blizzard to ensure a client took their medication. The half an hour journey took four hours but was definitely worth it to make sure the clients’ routines were not disrupted.
As the snow continued to fall, all 68 of the Home Instead offices swung into action making plans to ensure care provision continued despite the difficult conditions.
Commenting, UK founder Trevor Brocklebank, said: “The reliability of the service we provide is an essential part of what Home Instead is all about. This reliability becomes even more important when the people we are caring for become even more vulnerable due to the cold and the fact that they really can’t venture out.”
