North Yorkshire Care Company Receives Royal Recognition

Sheena and Andrew Van Parys owners of Home Instead Harrogate, Ripon and Thirsk are very proud to be celebrating along with the Home Instead national network of offices throughout the country after receiving royal praise on the very special occasion of Her Majesty's 90th birthday.

Home Instead have had much to celebrate recently as they are the UK’s leading home care provider as awarded by LaingBuisson consecutively for the past 3 years, and recently awarded a 'Top 10 Recommended Agency 2016' by homecare.co.uk and the Home Instead National Office were ranked 56th in the ‘Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to Work For’. Home Instead is also the first home care provider to receive 3 outstanding ratings from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The company is now very proud to announce that it has received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2016 in the field of innovation which is the UK’s highest accolade for business success.

The Queen's Award is hugely prestigious and honours the blueprint for care the brand has created, a bespoke model that delivers dignified, quality care in the home for older people. The award from the monarch pays testimony to Home Instead's relationship- led approach, which includes:

  • Homecare visits that typically last a minimum of one hour or longer.
  • A focus on the value of companionship and trips out alongside practical help with bathing and meal preparation.
  • CAREGivers and clients matched according to common hobbies and interests.

The Queen's Award recognises the growth of Home Instead - from the pilot office set up in 2005 to a robust network of 175 offices across the UK. The brand is made up of a family of business owners who are united in its mission: to change the face of ageing.

Today, almost 8,000 people are employed across the national operation giving care and companionship to 8,000 elderly clients.

The Home Instead network is honoured to receive the Queen's Award, the pinnacle of business achievement in the UK.  The network provides five million hours of relationship-led homecare each year, which couldn’t be achieved without the dedicated army of CAREGivers on the ground. The award pays testimony to their devotion to delivering care that is based on compassion, professionalism and a real desire to make a difference to the lives of others through care that is not rushed or time constrained.

Home Instead always wants to hear from potential new CAREGivers too, people who are inspired by the way it does things and who want to be part of its approach. Throughout the network it has 5,000 CAREGiver roles to fill in 2016 for people who have care running through their bones.
