Listeners Tune in to Listen to a Day in the Life of a Caregiver

Local radio station Stray FM recently joined Home Instead Caregiver Anne Watson as she visited and supported her clients in the community.  Stray FM presenters Beth Parson and Pete Egerton enjoyed spending time with caregiver Anne and to meet some of her lovely clients.

The need to employ more carers like Anne in the local area reflects a national trend which is a result of the ageing population. A recent report from the UK Commission for Employment and Skills has identified the need to recruit over half a million carers by 2022. The report also listed caring as one of the careers of the future.

Sheena Van Parys of Home Instead Senior Care Harrogate, Ripon and Thirsk says, “We are receiving more and more calls from local people and family members looking for home care, and our business has grown significantly as a result.

“We consider our fantastic caregivers as everyday superheroes; they are everyday people doing extraordinary work.  Whether they are providing companionship care, preparing meals, or helping with daily living routines, they are making a difference to the lives of so many people.”

“For people with no prior experience, we provide a full training programme so anyone who is interested in a rewarding career in the growing sector should get in touch. It is the unique and high-quality, personal service that has allowed us to grow so quickly and create these jobs in the local area.”
