Knaresborough Dementia Friendly Cafe Appeal For Help

Home Instead Senior care were delighted to hear that The Memory Lane cafe in Knaresborough have submitted an application to The Bring Joy Foundation to try and get funding towards their annual Barge Trip in Skipton.

This will be the Dementia Friendly cafe's third year going and enjoying a trip on the Dalesman Barge, having lunch and enjoying the amazing views as they travel along the canal. The group have also asked for a musician to join them this year so they can end their wonderful day with a sing-a-long.

Lisa Stirk Community Co-Ordinator for Home Instead said "I have got everything crossed that the Memory Lane Cafe are successful in their application to The Bring Joy Foundation, they are a wonderful group of people who look forward to their trip every year and for the carer's it's so important they have the time away from the home and enjoy some quality time together with their loved ones" Lisa, who has recently become a volunteer at the cafe was delighted to see them complete their application with a plea picture. see attached.

The Bring Joy Foundation was established in 2014 and has a unique vision, to help groups and organisations across the UK, put a touch of sparkle onto the agenda by funding events and activities or rekindling favorite pastimes.
