Home Instead Meet the Team at Harrogate Hospital Radio

Local organisation, Home Instead and its owners, Sheena and Andrew Van Parys, recently had a fantastic morning visiting the team at Harrogate Hospital Radio.  This was a great opportunity to tell the Harrogate Hospital Radio listeners about Home Instead and how their CAREGiving team can help people.

The listeners heard how Home Instead can support people who may need extra help and assistance in their own homes, keeping them safe and to enable them to remain independent and to continue to enjoy living in their own homes.

As we get older, most of us would prefer to stay in our home but we may just need some extra help to ensure we live well and stay safe and healthy, to hopefully avoid spending time in hospital!

Sheena and Andrew met radio presenters Scott Wall and Ryan Stocks who both volunteer at Harrogate Hospital Radio.

Harrogate Hospital Radio provide entertainment and comfort to patients of Harrogate District Hospital. Having formed in 1977, they are proudly celebrating their 40th Anniversary this year.

In April, Harrogate Hospital Radio presenter Ellie Jackson won Bronze in the Best Female Presenter category at this year’s national Hospital Broadcasting Awards.

Sheena Van Parys said; ‘it was lovely to meet Scott and Ryan and learn about the fantastic work that the volunteers do, staying in hospital can be stressful but their work really helps patients become more relaxed and comfortable. They even play requests and mention special dates such as birthdays and anniversaries, which is great!’
