Home Instead Lend A Hand On ‘Dignity Action Day’

Relaxing hand massages, delicious home-made cupcakes, coffee and a good natter were all enjoyed by the residents at Sunnyfield Lodge, the extra care housing facility in the centre of Ripon, during a pamper morning to mark Dignity Action Day on 25th February.

The event was organised by Home Instead in Harrogate who have pledged their continuing support for the national ‘Dignity in Care’ campaign, headed by Dignity Ambassador Sir Michael Parkinson to promote treating people with dignity as a basic human right.

This year’s theme for the day was ‘giving someone the gift of time’ and Home Instead Caregivers were on hand to share stories and their time with all the residents.  The team were joined by Nicole Inggall, a professional mobile beauty therapist from ‘Gorgeous on the go’, who was kept busy giving hand massages and beauty advise.

Home Instead owner Sheena Van Parys commented: “It is important to raise awareness of Dignity Action Day to promote the values it represents because we believe that care services must be person centered; people must be treated with respect, as individuals, and provided with the high quality care they deserve.”

Home Instead provide care for adults in their own homes across the area and the company is rapidly building a reputation as one of the UK’s leading at home care providers.
