Caring Company Delivers Festive Treats

The caring team at local company Home Instead, who support and assist older people living in their own homes in and around the towns of Harrogate, Ripon and Thirsk, generously donated 60 gifts to the Ripon branch of the Salvation Army this Christmas.  It is the third year that the team at Home Instead have supported the Reach Out Centre by donating Christmas gifts.

The Reach Out Centre is a hive of activity throughout the year providing lunch clubs every week and at this time of year a team of volunteers cook a hot Christmas dinner and provide festivities on Christmas Day to those living in the local community who are alone and for various reasons may have very little to celebrate.

The gifts that Home Instead kindly donated were given to the guests on the 25th December. Major Christine McCutcheon of the Salvation Army thanked Home Instead for the gifts, without such generosity from outside organisations the Salvation Army wouldn’t be able to do the work that they do.

Sheena Van Parys, co-owner of Home Instead added: ‘it was a great pleasure to be able to help the Salvation Army again at this time of year, they do such good work and we were glad to help and to be involved in the Christmas plans at the Ripon Reach Out Centre. This is our third year helping the Salvation Army,  the Home Instead network on a global scale donates gifts to good causes every year so it was nice for us to do this at such a local level working within the local community.’

Home Instead is changing the way care is delivered in the UK. Their service is personally tailored to the needs of individual clients through companionship and relationship building. The service is totally flexible to meet client needs and is available from as little as 1 hour to 24 hours a day.
