A Wonderful Day Spent on the River
The Dementia Friendly Cafe were overwhelmed to secure £720.00 donation from 'The Bring Joy Foundation' to part fund their annual trip to Skipton on the Dalesman Barge with lunch and Music on board for all to enjoy.
Lisa Stirk Community Co-Ordinator along with two Home Instead Client's and their CAREGiver's joined the group on Tuesday 23rd July to enjoy an amazing day on the river in the sunshine.
46 friends came together on the day and the atmosphere was amazing. The barge could be heard by the people on the towpath laughing and singing as it slowly made it's way down the Skipton Canal and the group sang along to Andrew who was on the keyboard.
Everyone said what a fantastic day it had been and they all looked forward to next years trip, which is already being planned.
In celebration of 'World Friendship Day' Home Instead were featured on Stray FM Lifestyle Show on Sunday 28th July talking about the wonderful Companionship service as part of the packages they are able to offer their client's.
Ben Groom spoke to Audrey, a Home Instead Client who joined Lisa on the trip, spoke very honestly about the difference having Companionship calls have made to the quality of her life.
