As part of the Christmas celebrations in Thirsk, St. Marys Church opened their doors this month for the annual Christmas tree exhibition ‘All the Trimmings’. Businesses from across Thirsk and the surrounding areas supported the church and joined in the yuletide tradition to create the dazzling display.
Despite the snowy weather, crowds from across the area visited the Church to admire over 30 themed Christmas trees glowing with mesmerising lights and adorned with an array of colourful decorations. A Christmas 'bring and buy’ stall was also set up which raised funds for the Thirsk Clock, a charity which does work for local young people, many who have nothing at Christmas time.
At-home care company, Home Instead, based in Harrogate, Ripon and Thirsk was one business joining in the festive fun. Owner Sheena Van Parys commented “It was a great event and really gave everyone the festive feeling. We are always keen to support local charities and this was a great opportunity to help raise vital funds for the community.”
