Home Instead Employee Steps Up For Parkinson’s
Home Instead employee Andy has raised an amazing amount of £150 for Parkinson’s UK. Home Instead who support people living at home in and around the towns of Harrogate, Ripon and Thirsk took part in the fundraising event entitled ‘Walk for Parkinson’s' last month to help raise awareness and research funds for Parkinson’s UK.
The event took place at Ripley, starting and ending at the Star Club in Ripley village and the Home Instead team walked 6 miles to fundraise for Parkinson’s.
Andy, Home Instead Office Coordinator states; ‘It was great to take part in this event and raise important funds for Parkinson’s research and the real heroes of the day were the walkers who are living every day with Parkinson’s.’
Parkinson's is a progressive neurological condition. This means that it causes problems in the brain and gets worse over time. Around 145,000 people live with Parkinson’s in the UK. And it's the fastest growing neurological condition in the world.
