Harrogate Company Happy To Support Community Groups
With the recent easing of lockdown restrictions, Home Instead are only too happy to start supporting local community groups and organisations again as they start to reopen.
Home Instead who assist people living in their own homes in and around the towns of Harrogate, Ripon and Thirsk regularly volunteer at the Movement and Music Group organised by SOP (Supporting Older People)
The Movement and Music Group is a friendly group who meet at the Green Hut, 44 Harlow Avenue, Harrogate, every Tuesday at 10am for an hour of seated exercise led by a qualified instructor and supported by volunteers. The exercise session is followed by an hour of socialising over a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits. This friendly group helps older people get more active and enjoy a social network.
In line with Covid safety, the group is currently split in half and alternating the weeks people attend ensuring there are always a safe number for the size of the room.
Lisa from Home Instead who volunteers at the group said; ‘It is absolutely fantastic that people are able to join these vital support groups again and socialising with others after such a long time in lockdown when many felt isolated and lonely. Home Instead are only too happy to support our local community once more.'
Home Instead not only volunteer at the group but Home Instead Caregiver Carol facilitates the Movement and Music session!
