Local Home Care Company Launches Free ‘Key to Care’ Sessions

Home Instead Harrogate, Ripon & Thirsk, has launched free ‘Key to Care’ sessions to provide advice and support to the local community on a range of topics relating to home care, ageing well and common issues facing older people.

With the uncertainty and fear of the future being a significant challenge for many, Home Instead Harrogate, Ripon & Thirsk are keen to provide families in the local community with a hub of information to start the conversation around support and ‘what’s next’ for an ageing parent or family member.

The first session focused on dementia and included a talk by Emma Hawkins, a dementia support advisor from local charity, Dementia Forward. Attendees had the chance to learn more about the diagnosis stage, where to get support and how to live well with dementia.

The next session will explore Parkinson’s, enabling people in the community to learn more about the symptoms, understand how they can help, and access support available.
