As part of our ‘Out Instead’ series, we introduce Combe Garden Centre

Having a supportive ‘friend’ in the form of a Home Instead Care Professional, to accompany Clients on outings, is one of the many advantages of our model of care.

Having a supportive ‘friend’ in the form of a Home Instead Care Professional, to accompany Clients on excursions, appointments and outings is one of the many advantages of our tailor-made care, and it’s an aspect that our Clients thoroughly enjoy.

As part of our ‘Out Instead’ series, we are pleased to present Combe Garden Centre, in Honiton, which offers a place to browse for plants, gifts and homewares, and also a perfect spot for a cuppa or bite to eat. For all of these reasons and more, Combe deserves a place on our ‘Out Instead’ list of local attractions and venues, coming soon to our website!

Combe Garden Centre first opened its doors in December 2018. Led by gardening expert, James Trevett, the team at Combe can offer advice on all green fingered matters and aim to run “…a personal, local garden centre that puts its customers first.”

Located on the outskirts of Honiton, Combe offers ample free parking, and a level approach for easy access. If travelling by public transport, there is a Bus Stop at the entrance of the centre, on the 367, 4 and 4A routes. There are no steps to navigate, and the entire centre is signposted clearly. There are a number of toilets, including a disabled facility. In addition, there are also two wheelchairs available for use by patrons, upon request – simply visit the Customer Services Helpdesk, located just inside the entrance, to the right.

Inside, the garden centre is bright and spacious, with generous aisles and room to browse. The ‘Kitchen at Combe Garden Centre’ is an inviting café, with both indoor and outdoor seating areas, offering a range of cooked breakfasts, lunches, sandwiches and meals, along with fresh pastries, teas, coffees and home-made cakes galore. Dogs are welcome on leads, in the outside seating areas of the café only.

In addition to James, fellow Team members Laura, Marion, Andrea, Myles, Luke, Jo and Alan are also on hand to support visitors, including those with particular needs. In fact, the entire Team at Combe are ‘Dementia Friends’.

In many ways, Combe is the perfect spot for our Clients and Care Professionals to enjoy a leisurely hour, perhaps with a cup of tea or spot of lunch for good measure.
