Combining a warm welcome, craft and cake for the community!
We have featured a host of venues, including museums, cinemas, exhibitions and coffee stops to name just a few and this time we are combining coffee and cake with craft!
Our friends at Open Door Exmouth have been a longstanding connection of ours, hosting free community talks regarding topics such as Dementia awareness, and also the opportunity to share news regarding our later life services and support.
Open Door Café operates as standard on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9.30am-3.00pm and the organisation offers a warm welcome to all. Open Door also holds clubs and events outside of these times. More on this later…
Of particular interest to our clients will be the popular free Craft Café, which takes place in the setting of Open Door on a Tuesday morning from 10.00am-12.30pm.
There are a host of craft activities to enjoy, including paper craft, felting and rag rugging but really, it’s an ‘open door’ with regard to ideas. Participants will chat, share tips, bring their own items to create, or help someone else along.
The group is free to attend, although donations to the Open Door charity are invited, with the aim of covering costs of the craft café. Reasonably priced refreshments and treats are available at additional cost.
From a practical point of view, access is good, with the café entrance and area on level ground, with on street parking (30-minute max) opposite, and a local car park nearby too.
