We have done it! I am absolutely delighted to share the incredible news of our recent Home Instead Epping Forest Charity Hike, which took place on June 17, 2023. It was an extraordinary day of unity, determination, and giving back to our community as we embarked on a challenging 15-mile journey from Manor Park to Epping. As the Director and Owner of Home Instead Epping Forest, I am immensely proud of our team and the remarkable achievements we accomplished together.

We were indeed fortunate with the weather on that eventful day. Despite the forecast of heavy rain, the skies remained clear, allowing us to navigate the beautiful Epping Forest without any hindrance. However, we did encounter an unexpected obstacle as the Central Line was out of service throughout the day. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the family members who generously offered their assistance, ensuring that our team reached Manor Park seamlessly. Your support was truly invaluable, and it exemplifies the spirit of togetherness that defines our community.

Promptly at 9 am, the first group set off from Manor Park, led by my dad, who took charge of the route map. With our phones and trusty Google Maps as our guiding companions, we eagerly joined him on this memorable adventure. And we were not alone in our journey; our beloved family dog, Bess, added an extra layer of joy and companionship to the hike.

As we progressed along the trail, more members of our team joined us at our first stop, Butlers Retreat at the Queen Elizabeth Hunting Lodge in Waltham Abbey. It was a heartwarming sight to see our team grow, accompanied by the presence of my own family, including my dear Mum, Annabel (7 years old), and Lottie (18 months old). We took a moment to replenish our energy and enjoy some refreshing refreshments before setting off on the next leg of our adventure toward High Beech.

High Beech greeted us with open arms, providing the perfect opportunity for a well-deserved break. We all indulged in delicious ice creams, savouring every moment of this delightful treat. As more team members joined us at this juncture, the sense of camaraderie and shared accomplishment grew stronger. With renewed determination, we set off on the final leg of our charity hike toward Epping.

I extend my sincerest gratitude to each and every participant who wholeheartedly embraced this incredible journey. Debbie and her sister, Michelle, Nicola, Michelle, Lagova, Julia and her family, Danielle, Lily (Vicky’s daughter), and, of course, my own family—your unwavering enthusiasm, dedication, and support have made this event a resounding success.
