Raising Awareness of Scams in our Community

At Home Instead Epping Forest, community engagement and support are at the forefront of our initiatives and recently, we organised a Scam Talk event at Homecherry House in Loughton on the 13th November.

Addressing a widespread, significant issue and the impact on our safety and wellbeing, we were delighted to host Norma from the Metropolitan Police for an informative Scam Talk.

The turnout was amazing, with residents actively participating in the session sharing their questions, concerns, and personal experiences. Norma expertly guided the discussion and handed out brochures and card protectors for individuals to learn about and deter potential scams and fraud. The event saw many attendees becoming scam aware and confident in the information they had received.

This event wouldn’t have been possible without the tremendous support of Yvonne, the House Manager, who diligently ensured that all residents were informed about and involved in this important session.

Scammers continuously seek new ways to exploit individuals, especially those who are more vulnerable. Recognising this, we at Home Instead Epping Forest remain committed to organising informative events and offering advice and support throughout the community. At Home Instead Epping Forest, ‘to us it’s personal’ and we want to support the community in every way we can.

Throughout 2024, we look forward to offering more events to empower and safeguard our community!
