Home Instead Epping Forest shares highlights from the Autumn Care Professional Meeting in Theydon Bois, celebrating anniversaries, birthdays, training, and team culture.
As we head into autumn, our Care Professionals came together for a special meeting at Theydon Bois Village Hall. It was a fantastic chance to pause, reflect and reconnect with each other and the office team.
More than just a meeting, it was a celebration of the dedication, milestones, and team spirit that make Home Instead Epping Forest such a rewarding place to work and receive care.
Every month, we recognise our staff anniversaries and September gave us plenty of reasons to celebrate as our excellent rate of staff retention continued to make us proud.
Angelina, Hannah, Lesia, Jacqueline, Emma and Valerie marked their one-year anniversaries. Additionally, Max and Leigh have been with us for six years, Gill for seven years, Jo for eight years, while Christina has celebrated an incredible 11 years with Home Instead! Each anniversary was honoured with a card, a Home Instead year pin, and a bonus added to payroll – a small gesture of thanks for such big contributions.
Birthdays also received a personal touch. Every Care Professional receives a card designed by the children of our director, Victoria, along with a birthday bonus. These thoughtful touches reflect our belief that every milestone matters. By recognising and rewarding loyalty and care, we continue to build a close-knit team where people feel valued.
This year’s autumn meeting was also a moment to roll out our refreshed Home Instead brand. Each Care Professional received a new lanyard, a Home Instead bag, and a practical bum bag.
The bags were immediately put to use, filled with PPE such as gloves, aprons, and hand sanitiser. Not only did this provide useful equipment for day-to-day care, but it also reinforced our professionalism and pride in the Home Instead name. Our Care Professionals left equipped, feeling supported, and connected to the wider Home Instead family.
The meeting was also a chance to celebrate new beginnings. We welcomed back Sophie, who has just returned from maternity leave. She will be working a few evenings each week, supported by her partner, who is caring for their children while she works.
This kind of flexibility is central to our approach at Home Instead Epping Forest. We believe careers in care should work around family life, personal commitments, and individual circumstances.
Victoria also personally thanked each Care Professional for their hard work over the busy summer. Every team member received a handwritten thank-you card, underlining how much we appreciate the effort and heart our Care Professionals bring to their roles.
Alongside celebrations, there was also time for professional development, with Victoria, Vicky, and Julia leading log note training. Keeping care open and communicated is central to what we do with clients and their families and their training was welcomed by our team.
Not all our team could attend the meeting, but thank you to all those who made it and we are looking forward to catching up and celebrating with our fantastic team again soon.
The Autumn Care Professional Meeting was a reminder of what makes working with Home Instead so special: recognition, belonging, and the chance to make a real difference in people’s lives.
