Weekly Memory Lunch Club for Those With Dementia
Memory lunch club was created to bring the community of Enfield together and let people with dementia socialise with others affected by dementia.
We have packed each event full of arts, crafts, memory games, exercises and activities that everyone can enjoy, just what the community of Enfield Town needed!
Our Memory Lunch Club can help with:
• Motivation & stimulation
• Confidence to go outside & socialise
• Reduce the feeling of loneliness
• Talk and make friends with members of the community
• Get advice & support from our team of fully trained, friendly & compassionate staff.
Our first group was a huge success; we were overwhelmed with the response we had and the visitors who dropped by from Age UK & the NHS Mental Health Trust to show their support.
Enfield’s Metro bank kindly sponsored the event allowing us to provide everyone with a delicious spread of snacks and sandwiches.
Here is what a lovely lady from the community wrote in to tell us:
“I’ve been asked to write a post from my Nan. She attended the first dementia lunch club yesterday at the town library after I told her about it having seen it advertised on LYD (Love Your Doorstep)…
Well, my Nan rang me last night to tell me how great it was, how she enjoyed herself, how nice the staff were, and that the food was fabulous.
She said she enjoyed the quizzes and particularly being told she didn’t look her age, which she always relishes 😂.
She has stated she will be attending next week and wants to encourage others to attend too.”
Come along to our next Memory Lunch Club event and meet others who are in similar situations.
It’s a fantastic trip out of the house and a great event we encourage you to be a part of.
Our Memory Lunch Club is available for anyone to attend every Tuesday at Enfield Town Library Community Room, 66 Church Street, Enfield EN2 6AX
We are looking for volunteers to help us with the Lunch Club every week.
If you have a couple of hours to spare and would like to get involved please contact Alexandra Sacker by email on [email protected] and provide a phone number to be called back.
