People are different. While some seek nothing more than their salary at month’s end, others really want to make a difference in their day-to-day jobs. Does this sound like you? And are you looking to make a real connection with people?

Maybe you should consider joining up with us at Home Instead Croydon and Dulwich. No matter if you’re located in Crystal Palace, Purley Way or Herne Hill, we can help you craft a career in home care in Croydon & Dulwich that doesn’t interfere with your private responsibilities (like family and studies).

Making Every Visit Count

Home care is about more than completing tasks; it’s about being there for someone in a way that feels genuine. Whether it’s sharing a laugh over tea, helping someone stick to their daily routine, or just offering a friendly presence, each visit has real value.

This role suits people from all walks of life. Perhaps you’ve worked in retail, child care, or hospitality – or maybe you’re exploring a new career entirely. The qualities that make a great Care Professional are the same everywhere:

  1. reliability,
  2. kindness,
  3. and a willingness to engage fully with the people you support.

Even the smallest actions can make a big difference in someone’s day.

– Shifts that adapt to your lifestyle, whether you live in Sanderstead, Dulwich Village, or the surrounding neighbourhoods.

– A minimum of 60–minute visits (time to provide unhurried care).

– Paid training that offers more opportunities to develop your skills.

– Building strong ties within your community as you support local people in familiar areas.

– A friendly local office team that provides advice, guidance and support whenever you need it.

– Additional career opportunities within Home Instead that help you grow into senior roles, training positions, etc.

Training, Support, and Career Development

Don’t worry, we won’t throw you in the deep end – every new Care Professional starts with a detailed induction, designed to build confidence before visiting clients independently. You’ll shadow experienced colleagues and practice essential skills to help you grow.

Ongoing training is a key part of the role, including the City & Guilds-assured Dementia Care Programme, helping you develop specialist knowledge and confidence. Over time, you could move into senior care roles, assist in training new team members, or take on administrative positions.

Once you join our Home Instead team, guidance is always on hand.

Being Part of the Local Community

Accompanying clients to familiar neighbourhoods or visiting them at home forms a big part of home care. But when talking to experienced Care Professionals, they often point out that the smallest, everyday experiences are what make the job special. That could include anything from picking up a birthday card at Thornton Heath shops, visiting Ashburton Library, or simply watching the ducks at Dulwich Park.

It is these visits that help our clients stay connected to their places and routines, while helping you become a consistent, reassuring presence in their lives.

At the end of the day, it’s hands-on support that’s practical, personal, and makes a genuine difference.
