Recipe of the Month
Home Instead Cleveland's Recipe of the Month
As we get older, our taste buds change and for many, food becomes a necessity rather than an enjoyment. Here at Home Instead, we are dedicated to ensuring all of our clients enjoy well balanced, home cooked meals as often as possible.
We can't take all the credit for this month’s delicious recipe, we did have some help from none other than Rosemary Shrager. You may remember Rosemary from TV shows such as Kitchen Showdown and I'm a Celebrity Get Me out of Here! she is also a regular guest judge on BBC1's MasterChef. Rosemary has been working alongside Home Instead to develop a wide range of recipes for us to enjoy, each of which has been developed specifically with the nutritional needs of our elderly population in mind.
Our CAREGivers love nothing more than seeing their clients face light up at the prospect of a delicious home cooked meal. They are on hand to help plan meals for the week or to pop to the supermarket for ingredients or even track down old childhood favourites that just hit the spot for our clients, bringing back wonderful memories from days gone by. We are on a mission to inspire the elderly population in our community to fall back in love with food. This begins with our Recipe of the Week blog which we hope will provide ideas and inspiration for those of us who need that extra helping hand around mealtimes.
This month, we are sharing a recipe for Chicken & Parsley Patties served with Braised Leek Cheesy Sauce and Potato and Swede Mash. This super easy recipe is full of nutrients and can cooked in batches and frozen. The chicken patties also keep well in a sealed container in the fridge for up to three days. They can then be eaten from cold and make a good snack or sandwich filling. Such a versatile recipe providing a wide range of options!
We will be sharing many more recipes over the coming months and providing downloadable recipe cards which can be printed to form your own Home Instead Recipe Book!
