Helping people live much happier and fulfilled lives

Our Business Development Executive is flying the flag for Home Instead Cleveland becoming a Healthwatch Community Champion

Helping people live much happier and fulfilled lives with Home Instead and Middlesbrough Healthwatch

Why did you decide to become a champion?

Having worked previously in roles such as a dementia care co-ordinator where I mainly advocated for people living with dementia and their families and then in the charity sector and now in adult social care with Home Instead Cleveland, I resolutely fly the flag on helping people live well in the community by bringing services together to work collaboratively. I enjoy being part of positive movements which help people live comfortably and happily with the choices over their wellbeing and services accessible to everyone.

How does your role help local people’s health and wellbeing?

Working for Home Instead Cleveland, I get to promote the possibility of living at home comfortably with the provision of quality care. Helping people live much happier and fulfilled lives which helps them to continue to live the way they would like to with dignity.  The role also puts me in a position to advocate for those who wouldn’t necessarily be heard when decisions around elderly care are discussed in the wider community, by connecting with organisations such as health watch it gives people living with those experiences a voice and help services evolve and improve.

I look forward to being a champion to assist with connecting services and improve communication and collaboration with the amazing services and groups working for the same goal.
