In March, the Home Instead Cleveland team travelled to Birmingham to participate in the Home Care Awards 2024. The event recognised excellence in various areas of the home care sector, setting a benchmark for the industry.

During the award ceremony, Home Instead UK collected multiple awards, including:

Spotlight on Kate Smith

Kate Smith joined Home Instead Cleveland at the age of 19 as a part-time Caregiver. Her passion for providing relationship-led services and her commitment to helping older adults live safely and happily at home quickly made her an indispensable team member.

By the age of 22, Kate became Cleveland’s Registered Care Manager. Her leadership skills and dedication set her apart, driving the team towards numerous achievements that have helped drive Home Instead Cleveland to become an ‘Outstanding’ Care Provider in Cleveland and multi-award winning.

Achievements During the Covid-19 Pandemic

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Kate’s leadership was crucial. Under her guidance, Home Instead Cleveland managed over 29,000 visits without a single Covid-19 case among clients or employees, showcasing the level of care and professionalism that not only our management team but also every single care professional working for Home Instead Cleveland embodies in every visit. 

Kate helped develop and implement vital policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to infection control measures. This ultra-safe and controlled approach safeguarded the Cleveland office and our clients, maintaining its impeccable service standards.

The Cleveland team, under Kate’s guidance, has earned numerous awards, including:

Despite the challenges, the Cleveland office has grown by an impressive 282% since 2018. In January 2024, Home Instead Cleveland became the highest monthly hours service provider among all Home Instead franchises in England and the business continues to grow, month after month under Kate and the Directors leadership.
