Supporting Dementia Awareness and Community Engagement in West Lancashire

Home Instead West Lancashire & Chorley has been actively supporting Dementia awareness and community engagement across the region through a series of meaningful local initiatives.
Recently, our team delivered Dementia Awareness Training at West Lancashire Borough Council, helping attendees build their understanding of Dementia and explore practical ways to better support tenants living with the condition. The session encouraged open discussion, with participants showing a strong commitment to creating more dementia-friendly communities across West Lancashire.
Alongside this, we visited the Dementia Café in Ormskirk, hosted by Community Lives Matter. The group enjoyed a special visit from Everton FC Ambassador Ian Snodin and Broadcast Liaison Manager Darren Griffiths, who shared stories from their time at the club and took part in a lively Q&A session. The afternoon was filled with laughter, conversation, and opportunities for attendees to connect with one another.
At Home Instead West Lancashire & Chorley, we are passionate about supporting people living with Dementia and promoting awareness throughout our local communities. By working alongside local organisations, community groups, and residents, we can help create inclusive environments where people can continue to live well and remain connected to the things they love.
We would like to thank everyone involved in both events for helping to make them such a positive and memorable success.
