Community, Conversation and Catchphrases at Our Carers Café in Burscough

This week, Home Instead West Lancashire & Chorley was delighted to host another Carers Café in partnership with The Farm Burscough.
The session brought together members of the local community, creating a relaxed and welcoming space where carers and those living with Dementia could connect, share experiences and enjoy time together.
Our discussion for the morning centred around past work experiences and home life, which sparked some wonderful conversations and memories among those attending. It was lovely to see everyone reminiscing, sharing stories and learning more about each other.
We also had great fun with an interactive “Can You Recall the Catchphrase?” quiz, testing our knowledge of famous sayings from television programmes. The activity encouraged lots of laughter and friendly competition, with several attendees even taking the lead in guiding the quiz and encouraging others to join in.
These sessions are always a fantastic opportunity to build connections, boost confidence and create a supportive environment for both carers and those living with Dementia.
A special thank you goes to Cath Grice and the team at The Farm, Burscough for their continued support in hosting these sessions and helping us provide a warm, community-focused space for everyone who attends.
📅 Our next Carers Café will take place on 9 April, and we look forward to welcoming both familiar and new faces.
