This week’s Chorley Dementia Action Group meeting was a fantastic success in its new home at St Laurence’s Church, Chorley. The event was well attended, with everyone enjoying a friendly chat, a brew, and a slice of delicious seasonal parkin.

Attendees took part in a collage activity to highlight the incredible contribution of carers, whose work is valued at an estimated £184 billion a year across the UK. The artwork — alongside others — will be presented to Downing Street as part of an Age UK initiative celebrating carers’ vital role.

At Home Instead West Lancashire and Chorley, we’re proud to be active members of the Chorley Dementia Action Group. Together, we’re helping to build a Dementia-friendly community in Chorley, raising awareness and supporting those living with dementia and their families.

We look forward to more inspiring meetings in our new home — a welcoming space where ideas, creativity, and community come together.
