Last weekend, the picturesque green in Chingford was abuzz with excitement as our local community gathered for the much-anticipated annual festival. Among the vibrant stalls and joyful activities, Home Instead Chingford made a memorable impact by engaging with the community through a series of fun-filled games and awareness initiatives.
One of the highlights was the classic game of guessing the number of chocolate hearts in the jar. Participants eagerly lined up, each hopeful guess contributing to the festive spirit. The delightful surprise came when Brenda made the closest guess winning the jar! In the raffle Jade and her daughter won the Home Instead Bear and a colourful piñata, their smiles truly encapsulated the joy and camaraderie that defined the day.
Beyond the games and laughter, our primary goal at the festival was to raise awareness about our services and the critical work being done to combat Motor Neurone Disease (MND). We are proud to share that through the generous contributions of our community, we raised an impressive £157.38. This amount will be donated to the MND charity, supporting vital research and assistance for those affected by this debilitating condition.
Participating in the local festival was more than just an opportunity to have fun; it was a chance to connect with our neighbours and reaffirm our commitment to the Chingford community. At Home Instead Chingford, we believe in fostering a sense of unity and support, whether through our care services or by engaging in community events.
Upcoming Event: Dementia Bus Experience
We are excited to announce our upcoming event on Wednesday, the 14th of August, where we will host the Dementia Bus on the green. This immersive experience is designed to help the public gain a better understanding of what it can be like to live with dementia. To participate in this enlightening experience, please book a slot by calling our team at 0208 1142000. If you’re unable to book in advance, we still encourage you to come to the green on the 14th to speak with our team and learn more about dementia.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who visited our stall, participated in our games, and donated to the MND charity. Your enthusiasm and generosity made the day a resounding success. We look forward to more such events where we can come together, celebrate our community, and support important causes.
