A Year of Connection and Adventure

Jonathan has been with us for just over a year, having started our services in August 2024. He lives in an assisted living facility and has Cerebral Palsy, but that hasn’t stopped him from pursuing the things that bring him joy. When Jonathan first reached out to Home Instead, he was unable to get out and about as much as he would have liked. The visits from our compassionate care professionals have made a world of difference in his life.

Every week, Jonathan enjoys a four-hour visit from Sean, Jane or Jade, three care professionals he’s gotten to know and truly bonded with. They’ve become a great support system for him, and it’s clear that their companionship has brought Jonathan much happiness. In fact, Jonathan has even worked with his care professionals to create a “bucket list” of activities he wants to experience in the local area during his visits.

Adventures and Experiences

So far, Jonathan has crossed a few exciting experiences off his list. Together with the care professionals, he has been bowling, he’s visited the Wetlands Centre in Arundel and enjoyed a thrilling day out at the Goodwood Racetrack. Even on rainy days, Jonathan doesn’t let the weather stop him – whether it’s a cozy lunch out or a spontaneous outing, he’s always up for making the most of his time. It’s clear that these outings bring immense joy and add value to Jonathan’s life.

A Positive Impact on Quality of Life

What truly stands out in Jonathan’s story is how our service not only provides support but also enhances his quality of life. By offering companionship and assistance with outings, we’ve helped Jonathan maintain his independence, giving him the confidence to continue doing what he loves. We believe that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, deserves the opportunity to experience life outside of their usual routine, and Jonathan’s story proves just how meaningful this support can be.

With Home Instead, Jonathan knows he’s not alone. Whether it’s exploring new places, trying new things, or simply sharing a meal together, we’re here to help make those moments happen. It’s all about supporting his independence and ensuring he enjoys the experiences that matter most to him.
