Home Instead Chichester & Bognor Regis since 2017 has been awarded the highest accolade in the home-care sector. The Chichester based company, which cares for people in their own homes in and around Chichester and Bognor Regis, was inspected by the independent care sector regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
In the report, various professionals, including local GP’s, expressed how they valued the service and spoke extremely highly of the care professionals and the exemplary leadership within the organisation.
The team recognises the importance of being involved with the local community, as well as working closely with health and social services professionals.
A community psychiatric nurse praised the outstanding organisational culture of excellence and of going ‘the extra mile’. Another health care professional said “Your excellent care and good communication with all concerned was invaluable and enabled us all to provide the best care.”
Care professionals were described as extraordinarily dedicated, motivated and committed. One care professional said, “It’s a lovely family orientated company who pride themselves on person-centred care. It’s a pleasure to work here.” When asked what it meant to them to be able to provide a personal service to people, another care professional said, “I really enjoy working for the company as it genuinely cares. It’s just brilliant and if you can make someone smile that’s it.”
A client’s relative told inspectors, “My mother has a habit of changing her mind. Her care professionals have the patience of saints. One minute they will be making her scrambled egg on toast, the next, they are required to walk down the road with her on her electric scooter. They are capable resourceful people who work together to get the right outcome.”
Home Instead matches care professionals to clients based on shared interests and personalities. Care visits last for a minimum of an hour, to allow care professionals time to get to know their clients, never rushing the care provided.
