It's been a super busy this week, including attending a very special celebration with a local community group in Blacon.
Our Community Engagement Officer, Jonathan, has been non-stop this week, with community events in and around Chester, whilst also supporting our colleagues from Home Instead Liverpool South at their Dementia Information Event at the Royal Liverpool Hospital on Tuesday. This was an educational day which was part of our efforts to supporting Dementia Action Week. Almost fifty NHS staff from Broadgreen, Aintree and the Royal Liverpool Hospitals attended, undertaking the Virtual Dementia Experience first hand. Everyone found the training and unique experience incredibly helpful.
Jonathan gave a dementia talk at Grosvenor Primary School on Wednesday, which was very well received by the staff and pupils, and today he was delighted to show Home Instead’s support to local social enterprise, Here and Now, based in Blacon. It was their 10th Anniversary celebration. The celebration was also attended by the Lord Mayor of Chester, Cllr Razia Daniels, which made it a really special occasion.
Here and Now aims to bring socially isolated people together in a friendly and relaxed, dementia friendly environment. They also run a range of different sessions throughout Chester and the local surrounding areas, of which Home Instead Chester is an advocate. Congratulations to the wonderful team at Here and Now on your success and for making such a positive contribution to the Chester community.
To end the week, Jonathan is attending the Jobs Fair at The Port Arcades, Ellesmere Port CH65 0AP on Friday 23 May 2025, from 10am – 12pm. If you have an interest in working for Home Instead Chester then please pop along for a friendly chat. Jonathan will be delighted to meet you.
