The tea room is within the grounds of Writtle Agricultural College (now Writtle College) and stands on the former site of a cattle shed and milking parlour.

The staff are all friendly and welcoming, and while no reservations are required it may be busier during peak season. However, if you do find yourself with a short wait for a table, why not visit the site of one of King John’s hunting lodges dating from around 1210 A.D, just across the road within the grounds of Writtle College

The Bee Shed Coffee House

The Bee Shed is the perfect venue to meet family and friends.

Situated within Lathcoats Garden Centre, The Bee Shed emphasises local, seasonal produce and ingredients supplied by local farmers and suppliers.

The Bee Shed offers relaxed surroundings, including a cosy wood burner during winter and a sunny terrace for summer for you to enjoy their delicious menu. They bake sumptuous cakes and scones every morning and serve soups and salads that reflect the current season.
