We had the privilege to support Meg, an incredible lady who recently passed away peacefully at her home in Cardiff at the age of 103!

Meg lived a full life and travelled extensively with her late husband. We first began helping her in 2015 when she was a relatively youthful 95 years old. Meg’s initial request was for our care service to help her have “one more year to enjoy the view of Roath Park from my window” – we went eight better and helped Meg to stay in her beloved home until 2023.

Our unique home care approach – carefully matching a small group of care professionals to work with Meg and listening to her wishes – really paid dividends in terms of maximising her quality of life.

It was an honour to say thank you to Meg’s team of care professionals in our office this week. Whilst the whole team have been amazing, special mentions go to Sandra, who worked with Meg from “day one” and to Linda who volunteered to cover overnight calls at the end so Meg was never alone during her final days.

We were delighted to work alongside other health and care professionals, including Olga, a specialist nurse from Cardiff & The Vale NHS Memory Team, to promote Meg’s wellbeing. Olga kindly paid tribute to our team:

“Meg managed to live to 103 years old with the help and care you gave her – thank you so much”.
