Looking to get out for a bit of shopping, particularly of plants? Why not make it an enjoyable day at one of these garden centres in Cardiff.

To matter what the weather is up to you can always guarantee a good day out at a local garden centre. Normally there cafes have lovely food to enjoy given you the time to relax inbetween shopping. Gardens centres have less hustle and bustle about them compared to the shops in the city centre.

1. Cardiff Garden Centre (Blue Diamond)

Cardiff’s Garden Centre is based in St. Mellons. It is easy to get to and has a large car park to park in. They have a huge range of plants and gardening equipment as well as a children’s department, homeware and gift shop. Not only do they have all of that but they also have a restaurant to get a bite to eat, even for breakfast. They are open every day of the week so you can choose any day to go. The whole site is wheelchair accessible with plenty of toilet facilities as well.

2. Pugh’s Garden Village – Radyr

Pugh’s Garden Village in Radyr is a top fan favourite with our clients and has been established for over 65 years. Along with all your garden needs there is also a food hall full of locally grown produce. Also not forgetting The Watering Can Coffee Shop and The Walnut Tree Express Coffee Bar to stop for a drink or a bite to eat. They are open every day of the week and free parking is available on site. As well as stopping at Pugh’s you also have a few other retail places to browse.

3. The Dutch Garden Centre

Based in Pontprennau is The Dutch Garden Centre. This is home to the people who can help with specialist plant needs and their famous hanging baskets. They concentrates solely on plants and are open 7 days a week.

4. Caerphilly Garden Centre

Just North of Cardiff, past Thornhill and into Caerphilly, you will find Caerphilly Garden Centre. As well as their wide selections of plants they also have a unique gift selection and garden furniture. If you are also feeling hungry The Palms Restaurant is open, along with the Garden Centre, every day of the week. Again there is free parking on site. Once you have been you might even want to take a short drive into the main town and have a short walk by Caerphilly Castle.

5. Village Garden and Pet Supplies

In Llandaff North is the Village Garden and Pet Supplies. On the busy Station Road is small shop supplies plants and seeds. Open Tuesday to Saturday each week.
