Recruiting our Care Professionals: Opportunities in Burton Upon Trent

Discover the steps taken to become a Care Professional with Home Instead in Burton upon Trent, East Staffordshire. Warm and rewarding careers start here.

As the need for visiting care at home continues to grow, Home Instead in Burton-upon-Trent is seeking passionate individuals to join our team as Care Professionals. If you’re considering a rewarding career in care, here’s a glimpse into our recruitment and induction process, tailored to ensure quality care and support for older adults.

Understanding the Role and Process

Our journey together begins with an informal telephone conversation. This first touchpoint is where we chat about the role, the tasks involved, and the hourly rate to ensure it aligns with your expectations and capabilities. We want you to feel fully informed and comfortable before moving forward.

Should we both feel the role is a suitable match, the next step is a face-to-face interview. This gives us the chance to meet you in person, learn more about your passion for caring, and discuss how your skills and experience can make a difference in the lives of older adults.

The Offer and Preparations

If the interview goes well, you won’t be left waiting in suspense. We aim to call back the following day with, hopefully, a job offer on the table. Enthusiasm matters, and we’re keen to get talented individuals like you on board quickly.

We then book a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as soon as possible. Though the DBS can sometimes take a few weeks, rest assured that we make it our priority to expedite this step, understanding how eager you are to start your journey.

Training and Induction

Staff training is spearheaded by our trainer, Amanda, who sends a warm welcome email introducing you to our e-learning platform. This self-paced, comprehensive learning experience helps to cultivate the knowledge base required for delivering top-tier care.

Completion of the e-learning modules leads to our welcome program at our local office, with a warm and welcoming team. Here, our new Care Professionals delve into manual handling, medication protocols, basic life support, and a wealth of general information that’s crucial for exceptional caregiving. Our goal is for you to feel confident, prepared, and part of the Home Instead family.
