Owners Jess and Rachel take on tandem skydives to raise money for Home Instead Charities

Join us as we recount our incredible skydiving adventure and how it helped raise over £1,100 for Home Instead Charities, making a difference in the lives of those in need.

There are moments in life when we are presented with an opportunity to challenge our limits, experience the exhilaration of defying gravity, and make a positive impact. Such an opportunity came for us in the form of an 11,000-feet skydive at the renowned Black Knights Parachute Centre in Lancaster. With nerves of steel, a thirst for adventure, and a commitment to a greater cause, we embarked on an unforgettable journey that would push us to new heights—both literally and figuratively.

As the day of our skydive approached, a sense of excitement and purpose filled us. Not only were we preparing for an adrenaline-fueled adventure, but we were also motivated by the opportunity to raise funds for Home Instead Charities. Weeks of physical and mental preparation culminated in a comprehensive briefing and equipment check at the Black Knights Parachute Centre, renowned for its professionalism and safety standards. With the weight of responsibility on our shoulders, we boarded the aircraft, ready to soar.

As the aircraft climbed higher into the sky, our anticipation mingled with a sense of nervousness. However, the knowledge that our skydive was benefiting a worthy cause gave us the courage to take the leap. With a deep breath and a leap of faith, we soared into the vast expanse of the open sky, driven by the desire to make a positive impact.

As we left the aircraft, an indescribable rush surged through us. The wind roaring in our ears, the panoramic view stretching before our eyes, and the knowledge that we were raising funds for Home Instead Charities created an adrenaline rush like no other. In that moment, fear transformed into exhilaration, and we felt an incredible sense of purpose.

After the exhilarating freefall, a sense of serenity enveloped us as the parachute gently deployed. Suspended beneath the colourful canopy, we marvelled at the breathtaking beauty of the Lancashire countryside and seaside. The tranquillity of the parachute flight allowed us to reflect on the impact we were making through our skydiving adventure.

As we reflected on our skydiving adventure, a profound sense of gratitude washed over us. Not only had we conquered our fears and experienced an incredible rush of adrenaline, but we had also raised over £1,100 for Home Instead Charities. The funds raised will support their noble mission to bring happiness and joy into the lives of our ageing population through peer support lunch clubs, art clubs and music therapy groups. We realised that our skydive had not only impacted us personally but will also make a tangible difference in the lives of others.
