Here at Home Instead Bromley, Chislehurst, and Orpington, we love getting out and about in the local community, and there are few events as fun as the annual West Wickham Village Day!
The Home Instead team were on hand to answer questions from the public about the range of home care services we provide to support older people living in their own homes in the West Wickham and wider Bromley area. Our recruitment team were also busy speaking to potential new Homecare Professionals about the many benefits of launching their career in care with Home Instead Bromley, Chislehurst, and Orpington.
The West Wickham Village Day, brilliantly organised by Friends of Blake Park, took the form of a traditional village fete and was attended by over 4,000 local people. There were numerous stalls selling their wares and showcasing their services, from homemade cakes to beautiful handmade jewellery, lucky dip stalls, second-hand toys and much, much more. The highlight for many was the street food area, where there was a huge choice of food and drink including Philly cheesesteaks, stone baked pizzas, and Japanese street food. We would have happily sampled everything!
There was something for everyone when it came to entertainment. The major attraction on the day was The Dog Show, sponsored by West Wickham based Tender Paws Vets, which included categories for the Perfect Pup, Britain’s Got Talent and the Fabulous Fella and Loveliest Lady. It was certainly a dog-friendly event! We were also entertained by the excellent Louise Benson School of Dance, and a great musical performance from the band at Langley Park School for Boys.
It’s safe to say a great day was had by all. If you missed this year’s event, it is certainly worth keeping your eyes peeled for next year’s West Wickham Village Day by following their Facebook page . We loved meeting some many interesting people (and dogs!) from the local area, we’ll be back next year!
