Leafy Bromley is an oasis of calm outside central London. London’s largest borough has access to lots of parks and green spaces, as well as plenty of cafes and restaurants in the centre and beyond, from traditional pubs to independent, cosy cafes.
Just 12 miles from central London, Bromley’s food scene is fast becoming unrivalled, and locals are spoiled for choice – especially on Sundays.
Aqua Mediterranean bar and grill
Aqua offers a traditional three-course Sunday lunch with plenty of options, including fish and vegetarian options. The restaurant is known for its good service, reasonable prices and comfortable surroundings – it’s also wheelchair accessible.
It has a nice central location on Market Parade, East Street, if you want to avoid having to spend too much time getting there. Staff are very accommodating to families, if you plan on taking young children.
The Cow & Pig
Located in the heart of Bromley, the popular Cow & Pig offers many options for Sunday roast, including vegetarian, with all the trimmings. It’s a family-friendly, wheelchair-accessible restaurant, perfect for a relaxed Sunday afternoon. It also caters well for allergies, with a completely separate menu for those with food intolerances. Food is served from 12pm until 4pm.
The Anglesey Arms
The Anglesey Arms is one of the most popular spots for Sunday lunch in the borough.
It offers a choice of meats with Yorkshire puddings, seasonal vegetables and roast potatoes, topped off with gravy. With welcoming staff, this is more of a traditional pub environment for grandparents who prefer a more relaxed atmosphere. It’s wheelchair accessible and very family friendly.

Harpers
For a variety of options, Harpers on West Wickham high street offers a very reasonably priced Sunday roast with a selection of meats, as well as its entire menu, including meat, fish burgers and vegetarian options. It’s perfect for larger groups looking for different types of food.
The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, and friendly staff, and is wheelchair accessible.
Don Giovanni
For something a little different, authentic Italian restaurant Don Giovanni offers a three-course set menu with focaccia to start. Choose from starters including soup and gnocchi, mains including beef with Yorkshire pudding, plus plenty of pasta dishes.
The restaurant is nearest to Bromley South station, on Homesdale Road, so is a quieter option that’s still very accessible.
Prices are a bit higher, but the quality and presentation of dishes here is also more upmarket.
